Made from a grade of red oak rarely used for the production of furniture. Characterised by an increased variation in grain uniformity, nots and splits in the material. The need to manage all of this has been used as an opportunity to embed an array of stories and experiences into the surface of the bench that connect it to East London

Made up of 8 curved segments that can be arranged in a number of different configurations in order to facilitate a series of moments that bring people towards it. 		<description>On the round shelving

A freestanding shelving system distinguished by its soft curved edges and rotating internal components. Made from solid douglas fir timber, it’s horizontal shelves are held in place between alternating vertical sections that allow for storage on both sides. Internal components can then rotate 360 degrees, altering how much light can pass through the shelves and what can be displayed on them. The overall form can scale up or down in size depending on the environment and the same system can be used to make a two shelf sideboard.

A series of powder coated steel stools that are assembled from a range of circular, square and oval tubular sections. Each of the tubes are cut along their lengths and arranged around a set diameter before being capped and finished in different powder coated colours. Embracing an element of chance and variation in their design, this series of stools offers an ongoing iterative approach to making unique forms that all have a similar common language.

Part Exchange tells the life story of a scrapped car through a series of objects inspired by the people whose lives it touched over the course of 25 years. Drawing on conversations with its previous owners, the disassembled components of an Alfa Romeo Cloverleaf 145 have been reconfigured into domestic objects of furniture.

Purchasing the car at the end of its usable life, then seeking out all of its previous owners in order to better understand what the car meant to the people who lived with it. Through a series of conversations and exchanges seen in the accompanying film, I imagined new ways that the life of the car could live beyond its time on the road. Moving between Richmond (Yorkshire), Manchester, Blackburn &#38;amp; Walsall before finally ending up in East Sussex, the stories gathered were used as a basis for designing new objects of furniture from the materials of the car that once was.

An armchair assembled from four components that come together through the use of countersunk threaded bolts and custom made powdercoated brackets. Made from solid douglas fir timber with large radius edges, simple forms and an open ended forward facing profile.
