A three pronged tabletop candle holder made from bent sections of tubular steel. Designed within fairly tight production constraints, it’s an intentionally simple object, both in form and resolution.
Originally designed and made along the route of the number 12 bus. The candleholder No.12 was the result of a wider research project to imagine the connecting areas the bus passes through as a manufacturing network. This involved employing the current availability of production in South London in order to produce objects that are informed directly by the context of the space in which they are made.
The object is a result of an assemblage of localised knowledge and craft. The simplicity of it’s form belies the many narratives that have contributed towards it’s production.
